Your **booking form** is the public "front door" couples use to request a date. A
submission creates a client and an event automatically, so a lead lands in your dashboard
ready to work.

## Customize the form

In **Settings → Booking form** you can tailor the fields couples fill out — keep the
defaults (names, email, event type, date, venue, guest count) or add your own questions.
Name and email are always required; everything else is up to you.

## Share your link

Share your booking link anywhere — your website, social bios, email signature. Each
submission comes in as a new **inquiry**.

## The availability checker

Alongside the booking form there's a second public front door at
`/your-slug/availability` — a **date-first** funnel for couples whose only question is
"are you free on our date?"

1. They pick a date, and SpinBook answers from your **real calendar**: if no
   booked-category event sits on that date, they see "Good news — that date looks open!";
if one does, they see a softer "that date may already be spoken for — send your details
and we'll confirm." It's never a hard no (you might run two events in a day, or juggle),
and it never reveals *what* is on your calendar — just the soft answer.
2. Either way, your booking-form fields appear right below (date pre-filled), so the
momentum carries straight into an inquiry.

Submissions land in the same lead pipeline as the booking form — same dashboard banner,
same webhook, same email notification — with the checked date and the answer they saw
recorded on the inquiry, so you know exactly what they were told. The two pages link to
each other, so share whichever fits: the full form, or the quick date check.

## What happens on submit

- A **client** record is created (or matched by email).
- An **event** is created on your default **Lead** status.
- It appears on your dashboard, flagged as a new inquiry to follow up.

From there, open the event ([the per-event view](/per-event-view)) to confirm details,
send a contract, and request a deposit. As you work the lead you move it through its
stages — see [event status & the lifecycle](/event-status). The couple's checklist and
planning tools only switch on once you mark the event **Booked**.
